Choosing
BMWs
for
this
journey
was
pretty
much
a
no-brainer.
The
reputation
and
performance
of
the
machines
are
historic,
and
support
from
clubs/riders
is
unmatched.
While
we
fully
expect
to
encounter
mechanical
problems
(otherwise
the
world
wouldn't
need
mechanics),
we
believe
these
bikes
will
carry
us
through
where
others
might
not.
This biggest
mistake we made in our planning was starting on two completely
different
style
motorcycles. So after two years while in New
Zealand, we sent Chris' R100PD back to the states and purchased a
1996
Red F650 to replace it. It was a great
decision.
